What is the weight limit on the Bunk Bed in the 17C. Could a 175Lb adult sleep on it.
Does the 17C come with the four season package, especially the under part being insulated.
Thanks

Hi, MOKid! (And, welcome to the forum!)
Have you looked at this thread - there was quite a bit of talk on the 17C being a (not) 4 season: - http://www.afnash.com/forum/view_topic.php?id=7726&forum_id=16&highlight=Nash+17C
I have a similar pull down bunk in my 19B that you have. For whatever it is worth, my personal take would be that this is a "kids bunk" because the spacing from the bunk to the ceiling is rather limited. As for the 175#s - it would probably hold it....but, I would rather it NOT be me, an adult.
Good luck. Others with wisdom will pop in here soon. (They have "book learnin'" at their disposal, instead of seat-of-the-pants! )
Edited for readable content!! Geeze!!!

I owned a 17c, great trailer. The bunk is rated at 150 lbs, the problem, other than the weight, is how do you get up there? We used it for storage for suit cases, pillows, etc. when we camped. I would only put a kid up there and then worry that they would fall out.
The trailer is insulated like the other units, but the drain valves are outside, not inside the insulation like the other models, so they could freeze at the drain points. You could add RV antifreeze to the holding tanks so the water that sits against the valves would have some ability to not freeze, but I wouldn't camp in long term cold weather in one. To get heat to the water pump and some of the lines, you would need to keep the cupboard doors open under the kitchen and bath sink also.
the trailer is a great trailer, large bath area, large closet, good size fridge and eating area, cramped with the bed out, but OK for short trips with two or three people.

Hey, MOKid
My 2006 17C had a sticker on the fold down bunk that limited its use to 150#. There's just 2 of us, so we've taken to using the area to store bedding, blankets, and pillows when traveling (helps to keep the tongue weight down, too). Once we're camping, we leave it folded down and use it as a catch-all area for jackets, hats, books, camera, and such. I don't know anyone who weighs less than 150#! The converted dining room table and benches are a better bet to take, uh... shorter, heavier folk.
Tho my 17C sports a large foil decal by the door that proclaims it as a "4 Season Coach"... it isn't. I called the factory in LaGrange and put it to them. Their salesman's answer... it's not quite a 4 season coach. I suggested that it was a 3.5 season coach, and he said "Yeh, that's about right".
According to the factory, all (recent) 17Cs are created equal, and "true" 4 season capability is not even an option for this model. The fresh water holding tank is sealed across the bottom with black corrugated plastic panel, and there's a heater hose that feeds some warm air into the space the tank sits in. Of course, this assumes that you are running the furnace instead of using an electric or other portable heater.
My thoughts? It's the waste tanks and their drain valves that are most vulnerable, so pour some RV antifreeze into the empty tanks before use, so that there's some protection sent to fill the drain pipes from the valves to the tank. After the tanks start receiving waste water, the "impurities" in the waste water will make it much harder for the tanks to freeze.
So, as far as I'm concerned... they should work well in all but the harshest weather, for a few days, IF a few precautions are taken.

Hi MOKid,
I also have a 17c and can support the advice of other here that the maximum advised weight is 68k/150lbs. There is a sticker to that effect posted nearby. Looks a pretty dicey area for anyone to sleep.
We had the bed area changed to a U shaped configuration and while very happy with the extra cosy seating that was created the bed still isn't totally acceptable but heaps better than what Northwoods gave us. If anyone is interested in seeing what we created I'll organize a photo for viewing.
regards to all

Ranges...
Yes! I'd be very interested in seeing your remodeled bed/seating area. I find the current arrangements to be just OK for up to 2 to 3 nights. That's been good enough up to now, but I'd like to see your alternative!

Hi Landshark
You can see some photos here http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=1954966&id=1575365204#/album.php?aid=161926&id=1575365204
I had it done professionally by a local builder. We keep a couple of boards and sponge in the tub to fill the U. You can see the runners they rest on. The made up bed is of course angled from the sink bench across to the entry/exit door jamb.
Do you like it?
Regards

For whatever it is worth (just looked at an 08 17C over at Broadmore RV in Pasco today). Yup, those pipes are definately a pivotal "non-4-season" item. A friend of mine said the factory will not make it a 4-season, but that possibly a dealer or two would put a cover underneath and some "heat pads" on the tanks for about $700.
I would get a Fox!!!!
