When I use spell check, at times the list of suggested words go above the top of the page.  If I try to scroll the page downward to see more of the list (The correct spelling is aways at the top it seems.), the list goes away.

Any suggestions other than to use a dictionary as my DW suggested?

Until I just tried on this message I haven't been getting a spell check function to work at all in IE.  Just tested a few words in this message and it now works--I click on the link at the top of the reply screen, and it brings up a "Preview" screen and a "Preview Reply" screen--which has the misspelled words in a hot link.  Left clicking on them brings up a menu where it is easy to read.  Too many steps--I need to use Firefox for the forum as it shows you the misspelled words as you type.

If you scroll the page down PRIOR to left clicking on the mispelled word, you will have plenty of room to see the list

Linda,  (and all others)

PLEASE try this.... Download IeSpell, it is a FREE external program and it works from the tools menu in IE Explorer and not within the forum software like spell check. It uses your Windows spell check function and works great with only one step.

Check it out here:

When I use spell check, at times the list of suggested words go above the top of the page:DThis only happens to me when I have really misspelled a word. I usually will give it another shot at getting it closer to the correct spelling.

Thanks for the link, Tom.  I'll try it when I have the time.  Right now I'm on Dave's PC using Foxfire--the one you mentioned must work much like the one in this browser--tells you of your errors as you type, like in Word..

Not quite, it works like when you hit the "spell check" option in word.

The IeSpell works great! Thanks for the tip, guys. It also works on other forums, so you have the same spell checker where ever you go. Only took a minute to download and install.

Thanks!

If using Foxfire 2x, click on the 'Tools" tab, 'options', 'advanced', and then the 'general' tab, there you can enable or disable spell check.
